Villa los Mangles Holbox

What a sweet gem a few short steps from the beach - about a minute walk and you're at the beautiful beaches of Holbox. This boutique, small-scale complex (I think there are 4 units with another under construction) is just what you need for a comfortable visit to the island. We walked everywhere as the island is really small. If you have mobility issues, you can take a taxi everywhere as we saw many tourists do. The rooms are very clean with sweet touches. They provide basic amenities of modem hotels (towels, soaps, shower gel, etc.) and they also had a kitchen set up which was nice for preparing our leftovers. We really appreciated having a giant 5-gallon bottle with auto pump of fresh distilled water available for use in the kitchen! The hot water was nice to get cleaned up. The water pressure was a little low, but felt consistent with the island's push towards more sustainability and eco-conscious. That's our framing of it anyway. We also hung the little do not disturb heart on our handle so our house keeper could enjoy some free time and we could gladly reuse towels, etc. We would absolutely stay here again. It was convenient, affordable, sweet with great service.

I was seeking for a couple of weeks retreat in a relaxed and peaceful and found this jewel in Holbox. It's a clean small hotel surrounded by nature, with a perfect location just 10 min walk to the center but a just some meters from a dream beach. You'll have a reliable internet connection, hot water, daily clean and other amenities. The hosts are very nice, and the owner is always open to help you with your experience in Holbox, don't hesitate in asking for tours and other activities to do on the island ;) I hope to come back soon :)

We had a great stay at Villa los mangles. The rooms are big and clean, the location is perfect (nice and calm, few minutes walk from the center of the island). The owner Cristina is lovely and very helpful. She’ll help you get around the island. I recommend !!

What a gem of a place! Kind, warm and endlessly accommodating, the host Cristina is the star of the show. We made quite a few bizarre requests and Cristina delivered every time, never once making us feel like we were asking too much of her, and always going absolutely above and beyond to help however she could. The room is exceptionally well-equipped - fridge, toaster, utensils and crockery, a blender(!), beach towels, free drinking water, and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. Cristina was even so generous as to lend us rain boots to navigate the flooded roads, and her own personal Tupperware to take fruit to the beach (far too kind!). The Amistad room (which was the cheapest available) is lovely, spacious and has a hammock and outside deck to relax on. The location is beautiful, tucked away from the downtown chaos but a short walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to town. We feel really fortunate to have found this place!

We had the most amazing stay here. Stayed in the amistad room for 1 week and it made our Holbox trip so special. The location is great, just a 10min walk into town and super close to the beach, just a 1 block walk. The best beaches in Holbox are next to the hotel. It is super quiet which is lovely after being in the hustle and noise of the town all day. It is very nice to come back to a quiet home. Waking up here was my favorite part of the trip, so relaxing and calm. The best part of this hotel is the manager of the property Cristina. She went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed during our stay and was so warm and friendly. She gave us rain boots when we first arrived to help with the floods around town and anything else we asked for she was very quick to respond and help out. I would come back to this place for another stay in Holbox!

We had a great stay for 4 nights in the room at the top with the private terrace. Not sure what the other rooms are like but I highly recommend booking this room! Incredible views over the island and you can wake up to the sunrise. The private terrace is huge! Loads of space to spread out and soak up the sun, should you be so lucky (we had a few days of rain sadly). The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful - the room even had a blender and we enjoyed making frozen margaritas. Cristina lives on site and was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay, particularly as we had a bit of a nightmare with our arrival to Holbox. The location might seem a bit far out but we found it to be completely fine. We always walked or cycled, and would be in the middle of town in about 10-15 minutes on foot or even less on a bike. The beach is even closer - just a few blocks.

Yes low water pressure but water is an issue on this sand bar of an island! This hotel is quiet, clean, and has a lovely setting. Shady, cool, set in forest so no views. Very close to beach and shops.

We stayed in the hotel for five nights at the end of your trip to Yucatan and we had a great time. We booked the sea view room. The room is located in the second floor. It is a bit small but very comfortable. There is a Nespresso machine, a fridge, a television with a sky box and even a screwdriver. The shower could use a bit more water pressure, but the bathroom is fine. There is an aircon and a fan but we didn’t need it. Because the room is built on top of the house it is located above the surrounding trees. We just had to open the window, so the sea breeze could to the cooling. The private roof terrace is huge. There are two deckchairs, a counter belonging to the kitchen with bar stools, a place with a small roof and a sort of stone sofa and an outside shower. We woke up in the morning with birds singing, coffee at the counter for breakfast and beer during sunset on the deckchairs. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the main square. I would recommend to rent bicycles.
